Agreement focuses on Ranku, Wiley’s online platform for student recruitment

COLUMBIA, Miss. – May 9, 2018 – The University of Missouri System has signed a multi-year agreement with Wiley University Services to raise awareness and grow online programs across its institutions. The agreement will leverage Ranku, an online platform that aggregates programs into a searchable and centralized location and provides valuable data analytics on visitor behavior. This is one of the first System-wide recruiting initiatives the University of Missouri System has undertaken. The goal of this initiative is to increase awareness of the UM System online programs and increase the number of inquiries and requests for further program information, and ultimately to recruit new students to its online programs.

The University of Missouri System consists of four campus locations and an extension program, with a total enrollment of more than 73,000 students. System administrators were seeking a solution to help prospective students readily and easily discover and learn about the diverse program offerings from across the entire system. Ranku was chosen based on the demonstrated success of Ranku at other state systems and its ability to streamline and optimize the search and selection process for students.

Ranku’s prospect-facing Online Program Marketplace features an intuitive and easy-to-navigate design, enabling potential students to search for and gather information on programs quickly and efficiently, clearing the path to application. An easy-to-use Editing Suite makes uploading and updating content simple, ensuring it aligns with brand guidelines and standards. Ranku also features an Analytics Dashboard that tracks visitor behavior, while ensuring user privacy and responsible data use standards. Analytics provide valuable insights on trends and preferences that can guide institutions’ strategic planning.

“We look forward to working with the University of Missouri System to help them expand the visibility for their online degree offerings. They have an outstanding portfolio that will become more easily accessible to students around the world through the use of the Ranku platform,” said Cecilia Retelle Zywicki, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Wiley University Services. “Our partnership is a first of its kind for the System, and we are thrilled to be working with them on this initiative.”

“We are optimistic that the Ranku platform will significantly bolster our efforts to grow enrollment among the nearly 150 online programs offered by the four campuses in the University of Missouri System,” said Gary Allen, Vice President for Informational Technology and Chief Information Officer. “We offer online programs at all levels, from bachelor’s through doctoral degrees, and are committed to increasing access for students to these four world-class institutions.”

About the University of Missouri System:
The University of Missouri was founded in Columbia in 1839 as the first publicly supported institution of higher education to be established in the Louisiana Purchase territory. The university had a single campus until 1870, when the School of Mines and Metallurgy (now Missouri University of Science and Technology) was established in Rolla. In the same year, the university assumed land-grant responsibilities of providing higher education opportunities for all citizens. In 1963, the university again expanded to better serve Missouri by founding a new campus in St. Louis (the University of Missouri-St. Louis) and through acquiring the University of Kansas City (now the University of Missouri-Kansas City), creating the present four-campus University of Missouri System.

Today, the University of Missouri is one of the nation’s largest higher education institutions, with more than 73,000 students on four campuses, a health care enterprise, and an extension program with activities in every county of the state.
