Placing Value in Our Values

In Wiley University Services’ fast-paced and ever-evolving business setting, it is often said that change is the only constant. While change is certainly something that we have grown accustomed to over the course of our 20-year history, the real constant for us has been our core values.

Wiley University Services is an organization that is committed to fostering a respectful and ethical environment that enables our colleagues and partner institutions’ students to learn and grow. Our commitment to our students and to one another is made evident through the following five core values, which are central to who we are as an organization and help shape the daily work lives of our colleagues.

1. A LEARNING CULTURE THAT CHANGES AND BUILDS LIVES

This value directly speaks to our commitment to positively impact the lives of our students and partners through education. It is modeled in the way we enable our colleagues by providing a wealth of personal and professional development opportunities. As an organization, we are committed to learning from our past, our partners, and each other. We place great emphasis on applying these key learns to improve present processes and shape future innovations.

2. RESPECT FOR THE INDIVIDUAL

This is reflected in the way in which we interact with each one of our stakeholders – from student to Provost to Wiley University Services colleague. We respect that each individual has his or her own biography that shapes his or her perspective. We pride ourselves on fostering an environment both internally and externally in which these individual differences are embraced and encouraged. We value candor and we believe that communicating honestly shows respect.

3. THINK AND OPERATE LIKE AN OWNER

Wiley University Services was founded on the basis of entrepreneurship and the same entrepreneurial spirit that founded our business is alive in our organization today. We are an organization with an appreciation for accountability, ownership, and innovation across all levels.

4. PRIDE OF ORGANIZATION

There is a sense of pride that accompanies working for an organization that focuses on learning, respect, ownership, and ethics. The pride that our colleagues have for our organization extends to our partner institutions. To that end, we treat the reputations of both Wiley University Services and our partners with great care.

5. THE VERY HIGHEST BUSINESS AND PERSONAL ETHICS

Our organization is deeply committed to having both high professional and personal ethics, which is our fifth and final core value. We would not be the business that we are today without having a foundation built on the very highest ethical standards.
